Ignea are a band from Ukraine that plays a very symphonic and progressive form of oriental metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "The Sign Of Faith".
Oriental style acoustic guitars start off the album and they also mix in with the heavier sections of the recording and the riffs also bring in a great amount of prog metal elements and tribal style beats are also used at times while the female vocals gives the songs more of an exotic feeling and death metal growls are also used quite a bit.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also mix in a great amount of symphonic elements and when the music speeds up a small amount of blast beats can be heard while influences of thrash are also added into some of the guitar riffing and when solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and middle eastern style folk instruments are also added onto some of the tracks along with a couple that are also very long and epic in length and spoken word parts are also used briefly and they also bring in a cover of Ultra Sheriff's "How I Hate The Night".
Ignea plays a musical style that takes oriental folk music, symphonic, progressive and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of t heir own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Zorastarian, Science Fiction and political themes.
In my opinion Ignea are a very great sounding symphonic and progressive oriental metal band and if you are looking for something very original, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Alexandria" "Jahi" "Alga" and "Leviathan". 8 out of 10.
