Interment are a band from Sweden that has been featured before in this zine and plays a traditional form of Swedish death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Scent Of the Buried" which will be released in April by Pulverised Records.
Dark sound effects and spoken word samples start off the album before going into a very heavy and old school style of Swedish death metal that also utilizes a great amount of morbid sounding melodies while the faster sections of the songs utilize a great amount of blast beats and the vocals are done in a growling style.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the guitar solos and leads also remain true to a very old school style of death metal and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can be heard and while the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's they actually make it sound up to date without following any modern styles and the whole album also remains very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Interment creates another recording that remains true to the Swedish death metal style of previous recordings and every second of the recording is very aggressive, raw and heavy, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and evil themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Interment and if you are a fan of old school Swedish death metal, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Death And Decay" "Repugnant Funeral" "Dawn Of Blasphemy" and "Nailed To the Grave". 8 out of 10.
