Incubus/Beyond The Unknown/Nuclear Blast Records/1990 CD Review

Incubus where a band from Lousiana that where around during the 80's and early 90's that play a style of music that I would label as being death/thrash and this is a review of their classic 1990 album "Beyond The Unknown" which was released by Nuclear Blast Records during the year of 1990.

Drums range from slow parts to some fast drumming that utilizes alot of blast beats, while the bass playing is all fast rythym bass playing.

Rythym guitars are mostly fast death/thrash riffing with some slow to midpaced parts that contain a touch of melody, while the guitar leads are mostly fast and noisy guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly death/thrash style vocals with some deep death metal growls being utilized at times, while the lyrics cover themes such as religion, politics and death thems, as for the production on this album which was recorded at Morrisound Recordings in Tampa, Florida with the production duties being done by Incubus and Tom Morris sounds very raw but professional for the time era when this album was recorded.

In my opinion this was a good album from a classic band and if you are a fan of death/thrash you need to have this album in your collection. STANDOUT TRACKS INCLUDE "Certain Accuracy" "Beyond The Unknown" and "Mortify". RECOMMENDED BUY
